Mirror’s Edge 2 Shattered

News

As some of you may have heard, Mirror’s Edge 2 was demoed to EA today.  EA has turned down the project unfortunately.  A small developing team at DICE was in charge of putting together a prototype of the sequel, but apparently it didn’t catch EA’s eye to get the project green-lit.  EA has preferred that the small development team focus on another title (Battlefield 3) at the moment.  Now, this doesn’t mean that we’ll never see a Mirror’s Edge sequel, but at the moment, it’s been put on the back-burner…

It’s a shame to hear about this.  When Mirror’s Edge was released back in 2008, it was a great new IP along with Dead Space.  Both games sold poorly when they were released for the holidays, but seeing that Dead Space 2 has sold extremely well would ideally mean that Mirror’s Edge 2 could’ve picked up more sales.  Well, only time will tell if Faith will get the sequel fans are waiting for…

Sorry Faith, Battlefield 3 is apparently more important than your original adventures...
