“Starhawk” First Details

April 28, 2011

For those early PS3 adopters, we should remember a title called “Warhawk”.  It was the first serious online multiplayer game for the PS3 (besides “Resistance: Fall of Man” when the system launched) when it was released back in August 2007.  Well, creator Dylan Jobe has been going back and forth about the sequel “Starhawk” until now.  “Starhawk” is officially coming out.  It’s set to be revealed in mid-May, but you can sure bet Sony will be showing more off at E3.

“Starhawk” will remain a PS3 exclusive, however it will only release on a blu-ray disc, not through PSN like “Warhawk” did.  Gameplay will remain the same, allowing the player to take control of vehicles on the battlefield in the third-person perspective.  While you cannot fly into space from a planet, there will be space battles.  Visually the game will have the same style as “Warhawk” but with a new engine.  The reason they are releasing it strictly on blu-ray is so they can really enhance the visuals, which is a smart move.  While the core component of the game is the multiplayer, there will actually be a single-player mode to boot.

So “Warhawk” fans, ready to enlist again?  Stay tuned for more info as it gets revealed in the coming weeks!
