Dark Souls Gets a Box Art Facelift

August 4, 2011

Come October 4th, many Demon’s Souls fans are ready to stand their ground and face death when trying to conquer the spiritual successor, Dark Souls.  For months, we’ve seen the box art for Dark Souls’ Collector Edition but it appears Namco Bandai has decided to finally show off their “actual” cover.  Here it is…

Collector's Box Art

Actual Box Art

They are both really cool boxarts, but the new one does seem just a tad cooler.  What do you guys think?  Just to let you know, the actual box for the game is supposedly bundled in the collector’s edition’s case, so we get the best of both worlds actually!  Sound off  your thoughts in the comments!

The top one is the Collector’s Edition, the bottom is the standard. They were both announced a long time ago.

I knew about the Collector’s Edition box art, but I never came across the “actual” box art until today. Thanks for the correction though, sorry about that!

completely agree, my friend. Why oh why must NA box art suffer so much. There are so many occasions I wish I had a nice printer and a large rez file so I could print out my own version of the JP or even Euro box covers… case in point: the absolutely hideous blue ‘move compatible’ bubble that gets plastered on ever ps3 move game. EU gets a classy little blue bar and we get what looks like a walmart discount sticker.

I like the regular edition box art more then the collectors edition. It’s gonna look real nice on the xbox 360 one too.
