For 26 years, Voltron fans have awaited for an actual game to be released based on the source material. Now, during the “Voltron” panel that occurred today at New York Comic Con, we’ve got the latest details and exclusive gameplay footage showcased at the event.

The game will be a five-player online coop or two-player local coop game in which all of the lions are available to be played as, each with their own traits. Voltron fans will also recognize the enemies as they are the same as those from the Voltron universe. All the original voice actors from the 1986 series are reprising their roles, including Peter Cullen. The game consists of twin-stick, shooter style gameplay in which you can even exit the lion you are in and blast your way on foot. There were even a few sections in which all the members of Voltron were out of the lions and in space, blasting everything in sight. During boss battles, the game becomes a turn-based strategy style game in which all five online players will take turns controlling the fully formed Voltron.
