PS Vita NYC Community Meetup Event Hands-On

January 20, 2012

The PS Vita Community Event occurred Tuesday night in New York City and we finally got our hands on the much-anticipated PlayStation Vita. We got to play Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Little Deviants, Wipeout 2048, Modnation Racers: Roadtrip, Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational, LittleBigPlanet and Reality Fighters. Alongside playing the games, we got to cover the event itself, and it was great to see how our fellow gamers were as hyped-up as we were for the Vita’s launch.

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and plenty of food and drinks were on hand to keep everyone full and happy. The New York Studio Gallery (on 154 Stanton St.) proved to be a cozy venue, providing a comfortable lounge setting to kick back and play the Vita with our fellow gamers. We were also happy to meet with Sid Shuman of PlayStation Blog and get a first-hand introduction of the Vita while waiting on line.

Check out our hands-on preview of the Playstation Vita below and find out which games are really worth getting at launch. If watching the Vita just isn’t enough for you (we don’t blame you!), be sure to stop by one of PlayStation Blog’s numerous other Vita preview events in the same locations, going on until February 29th. And, as always, sound off in the comments below!
