Gaming Deals 4/1/12 – 4/7/12: What Should You Get this Week?

April 1, 2012

Ah Sundays…the day before everyone goes back to work, which is one of the reasons why many people hate it. However, one of the best things to look forward to on Sundays are the weekly ads that the stores release, showcasing what they have on sale for the week. This week, Toys R Us has a “Buy 1, Get 1 40% Off” on ALL games they have in stock. This also includes any titles releasing this week such as the Devil May Cry HD Collection (PS3/360), Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii), Ridge Racer Unbounded (PS3/360) and Kinect Star Wars (360).

Target has a few games on sale that you can nab for pretty low prices. Such titles include Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One (PS3) and Rayman Origins (PS3/360/Wii) for a mere $19.99. Also, for those looking to grab a Limited Edition Star Wars Xbox 360, Target seems to be the best place to grab one since they’ll be providing a $50 gift card with the purchase of the console. Granted, the console bundle will set you back $450 but avid Star Wars collectors would do well to grab this collectible piece. Also, the bundle includes a 320 GB hard drive, the Kinect Star Wars game and the Star Wars themed Xbox 360 console.

Best Buy has a set of games on sale this week as well. Those who’ve missed out on the excellent SSX (PS3/360)(my review here) can grab that for only $29.99 this week! You can also grab Kid Icarus: Uprising (3DS) for $29.99, as well as Batman: Arkham City (PS3/360)(my review here) and Madden 12 (PS3/360) for the same price. Also, racing fans can grab Need for Speed: The Run (PS3/360) for only $19.99, which is a great price for this underrated title. For anyone who’s been on the fence of picking up COD MW3, that’s on sale for $34.99 on both PS3 and 360. If you’re looking into picking up a PS3, Best Buy is giving an extra DualShock 3 controller with the purchase of any model.

Personally, if you’ve missed out on some titles over the past few months, Toys R Us’s deal may be something to look into. If you’re looking into the getting any of the new titles releasing this week, getting them from Toys R Us will save you some cash. If you’re looking at getting the Limited Edition Star Wars Xbox 360 Console, then Target is without a doubt the one that provides the best bang for your buck.
