Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer DLC Incoming for Free

April 6, 2012

Just 24 hours after announcing the new DLC content to help assuage gamers due to the highly controversial ending, BioWare has unveiled their first ever multiplayer DLC for Mass Effect 3.

The FREE “Resurgence” Pack debuting on April 10 will add two exciting new maps to the co-op multiplayer portion of the game, as well as new weapons, plus new characters and gear. Pretty sweet considering that this will all be free and available in less than one week. The game’s cooperative mode groups four players to work in a squad in order to complete key objectives which are tied into the single-player campaign. The first map, Firebase Condor, is a war zone outpost located on one of Palaven’s moons. The second is called Firebase Hydra, described as an old abandoned quarian colony which has since been converted into a critical power facility according to BioWare. In addition, gamers will have three new weapons, as well as four new reinforcement packs for gear. Lastly, there will be six new characters, one for each class overall making quite a robust multiplayer considering this is Bioware’s first hack at online gaming for this franchise.

Free DLC in today’s market  is amazing. No matter the size of it or the value, this does not change the fact that a developer has worked on something and decided to release it as a gift to the fans rather than at a price point. Practicing a belief such as this every so often will always lead to positive results for the developer and more loyal gamers.
