Silent Hill HD Collection and Silent Hill: Downpour Patch Incoming

April 25, 2012

News, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360

Well, there is certainly great news for Silent Hill fans today! Konami released a press annoucement regarding the unfortunate technical issues that have plagued the PS3 versions for both the Silent Hill HD Collection and Silent Hill: Downpour. Those whom purchased the PS3 version of either game are most likely familiar with the technical glitches, as well as the frame rate inconsistencies. Thankfully, after months of agonizing, watching our beloved series struggling to function, there is now a solution coming.

Longtime Konami employee Tomm Hulett, producer of Silent Hill: Downpour, gave out some details of the patch today on what it will fix, along with an estimated timetable for when gamers can expect it. The patch will resolve core complaints and issues that were scattered in both Downpour and the HD collection. Currently the patch has not been given a date but it will most likely be released in the coming weeks. Here’s what Tomm Hulett stated:

“Will fix the frame rate issues, the audio-synching in Silent Hill HD Collection, and the Auto-Save issues in Silent Hill Downpour. Players have voiced their concerns, and solutions to these issues will be fixed and launched in the coming weeks.”

To say this is a welcome announcement is truly an understatement for true Silent Hill fans. Personally, I’m looking forward to a second playthrough of both titles now that the adventure will be a more polished experience.
