Portal 2 “Perpetual Testing Initiative” DLC Announced

April 26, 2012

A year ago, players were treated to one of the greatest games offered this generation, Portal 2. Valve has just announced that free DLC is on the way for Portal 2 on May 8th via Steam. Similar to LBP’s “play, create, share” motto, Valve intends for people to “easily create, share, and play” by introducing a puzzle mapmaker. Users don’t even have to leave the game to get creative. User creations can then be uploaded via Steam Workshop in which players can “browse, vote on, and select to play them.”

Currently, the free DLC is only available for PC and Mac players. Whether or not console owners of the title will receive it remains unknown. Seeing as how the PS3 version not only came with a free copy of the Steam version, but also came with Steamworks integrated into the game, I don’t see why at the very least the PS3 version doesn’t get this DLC down the line.
